In the midst of a global pandemic, Her Excellency, Sheikha Abrar Al Sabah understood the impact of new-wave digitized social platforms and the opportunities they can provide for Arab content creators and talents to shift the status of Arabs on global motions, red carpets, and the haute couture.

Thus, HE Sheikha Abrar has initially tasked herself to elevate the cinematic and new media content in the region and established Abbey’s Productions in 2019, a media and entertainment production house that produces TV series, films and theater shows, and Barwa Productions in 2022, a one-stop media production facility that provides a creative and professional space for media professionals to turn their ideas into reality.

With her rebellious creativity, inspiring leadership and trailblazing entrepreneurship skills, Her Excellency led Abbey’s Productions to produce renowned TV and theater shows that were picked up by prominent channels in the Gulf, and topped the most viewed list on Pan-Arab channels and platforms such as Shahid.net and MBC.

HE Sheikha Abrar is known for her unique signature style of produced content, which has marked many other  productions as they have become world firsts, most notably the TV series Bi Tawqeet Mecca, the first TV drama to be filmed at the Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam, and Made in Kuwait theater show that brought together the largest group of media professionals in the Gulf.

Driven by her mission to shift the public position of Kuwait and the region globally, her eminent success in the media and entertainment field has prompted her to expand in the fashion industry by dedicating her efforts to pioneer unparalleled experiences and match selectively unique outfits showcasing the elegance and quality of Arab brands.

Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications majoring in TV and Radio from the Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST) in Kuwait, HE Sheikha Abrar aims to inspire young media enthusiasts and content creators on socials to pursue their passion and fulfill their professional aspirations despite the many challenges they will face in the field. On that account, Her Excellency is dedicated to motivating women and young content creators through inspirational public talks at notable events as part of her social responsibility.
